About the Center

Brugal Mejía López Clinic was founded in 1936 by Dr. Francisco Brugal Mateo (“Panchito Brugal”), being the first clinic in the Puerto Plata region. Since its beginnings, it has been distinguished by providing medical care based on human treatment, closeness with patients, and commitment to the ethical principles of the profession. In 2001, the Mejía-López family acquired the institution, driving a process of modernization and growth that combined family tradition with the incorporation of new technologies and medical advances, always maintaining a focus on excellence and the quality of care. Currently, the clinic is led by two generations of physicians trained in prestigious national and international institutions, committed to providing high-level healthcare services to the community. The institution offers comprehensive care through a broad portfolio of medical specialties, a modern imaging center, inpatient areas that comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic, a clinical laboratory with 24-hour service, and a vaccination center oriented to the community. Likewise, it has a team of highly trained professionals and promotes the continuous development of its staff through training programs and opportunities for internal growth; we continue strengthening its services, offering medical care with quality.
